Louisa County Fair Combine Demo Derby Wednesday 7:00pm July 23, 2008 Louisa County Fair Grounds Columbus Jct. Iowa Official Rules and Regulations
1. Drivers must be 18 years of age and able to show proof of age. 2. All drivers and pit crew members must sign liability wavier agreement. 3. Drivers must wear seat belt, helmet, long sleeve shirt, long pants and hand protection. 4. All combines must have a cab and two-wheel drive, and glass taken out, remove ladder, cab door welded or bolted shut. Any four-wheel drive combines must have rear drive wheels disconnected from any power source. No hydraulic lines can be connected to power source. 5. Combine must use a grain table (platform) that is fixed 18” from ground. Maximum platform width 20 feet (no less than 10’) Loss platform will result in disqualification from competition. NO CORN HEADS. 6. Combine platform must have reel, guards, sickle, and loose sheet metal removed. Separator must be inoperable. Safety bars or shield less than 36” high, must be added to the front of the cab area for driver protection. A roll cage made of 2” pipe must be added if there is no cab. Roll cages must be covered. 7. Participants must reinforce header to maintain 18”-24” header height. 8. All combines to be as originally manufactured (no reinforced parts or shields allowed) except as outlined in rules 6 and 7. 9. No factory fuel tanks. Maximum of 10 gallons allowed in tank. Fuel tank must be mounted on top of combine (inside grain tank preferred). TANK MUST BE SECURELY STRAPPED. 10. Batteries must be mounted on top of combine. BATTERY MUST BE SECURELY STRAPPED. 11. Tires may be filled with air only; now water; no foam; no duels allowed; 12. A stick must be mounted in the vicinity of driver. The stick must be broken off when driver is disqualified or unable to continue. 13. No direct hit to the driver area. 14. 2 minute time limit to restart and make contact. 15. Combines may be decorated, painted, or offer advertising. No profanity or obscene materials will be allowed. A trophy will be presented to “Best Decorated Combine”. 16. Rear Axle pivot may be welded. 17. All hydraulic hoses removed. 18. Recommend Fire Extinguisher on Combine. 19. All combines must halt immediately upon signal from judges. 20. Feature winner (last combine running and made last hit). $1000 to Win. 21. Driver and combine will pay no entry fee. 22. Combine entries will receive $100 if competed in a heat. 23. Prize money will not be paid until combine is removed from Louisa County Fairgrounds. 24. Combines must go through inspection 2 hours prior to event. 25. Combines to be removed from the Louisa County Fairgrounds by Noon July 24, 2008 or will be property of Louisa County Fair.
Rules of Conduct The Louisa County combine demo derby rules and regulations are designed to assist in the orderly conduct of the event and to establish universally acceptable minimum requirements for regulation of combine demolition derby events. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result form and Louisa County Pair publication or exposure to harm, injury, or death to any pit participant or spectator. The event directors shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in their opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration or specifications.
